Discovery Channel
Hired as the sole lead designer for the UK rebrand of the Discovery Channel, my role required me to scale Crispin Porter Bogusky blue sky concept into a website built around the Discovery Channel existing site frame work.
Due to the nature of the sites development the product had to be delivered in an exceedingly tight schedule!
During this ambitious project I attended daily meetings with the tech development team, internal marketing and the Discovery Channels European Creative Director. I pitched user interaction recommendations, proposed new marketing materials and developed comprehensive styling and graphics, while managing relationships between the creative, marketing, editorial and technical teams.
From the start of the project I was allowed full control of delivery schedules, time management and my daily routine. I gave feedback via weekly progress updates to the key figures from the management and technical teams whilst receiving new design requests and explaining important decisions regarding the site.
The superb cohesion between all of the departments inspired us to push limitations of the site frame work and deliver a stunning product but it also created a great working environment in a high pressure situation.

Hero's and Heroines Augmented Reality
Hero's and Heroines was a exhibition run by Leeds City Museum with the aim of matching Hollywood period drama costumes with the real article from the same period.
After winning a pitch to create the internal graphics I figured that the budget allocated for magnetic board, was roughly enough to pull off a augmented reality dress up booth.
Both the real and faux costumes were too delicate to allow the public to handle. The Leeds Museum team loved the idea because the technology broke the constraints of the costume exhibitions limitations.
After much trial and error a combination of a laptop, HD web camera and plenty of man hours delivered a augmented reality experience that not only allowed the public to have fun dressing up but also upload user generated photo's directly to the museums flickr account via our AR photo snapshot functionality.

Dance for Life
Dance for Life is a Bradford City Council initiative to get the public healthy and active.
After winning a pitch to re-design the Dance for Life website, I convinced the Dance For Life team that new branding would help attract a wider audience.
With the twin ideas of pattern and movement I created a logo, strap-line, photography and website, plus I leant to bust a few new moves along the way!
