Mobile payments

Whilist working at Skype I designed their HTML 5 mobile payment interface. Working closely with skype’s Senior User Experience Architect we devised a shopping basket ‘sliding drawer’ metaphor to keep user only a swipe away from their purchase information.

Sony / Computer Game Art Direction & Concept


After winning a pitch I was given a budget from Sony to develop my game concept ‘Rough Diamond’ into a demo. Along with the resources to create the first iteration of the game Sony provided agile training and mentoring from computer game industry creatives including the legendary designer behind ‘Beneath a Steel Sky‘ Charles Cecil and the Senior Producers that created ‘Heavy Rain’.

Rebranding one of the worlds most loved channels

My role required me to scale Crispin Porter Bogusky blue sky concept into a website built around the Discovery Channel’s existing backend frame work. Working on design elements across social and web required deep collaboration with the Discovery Channel’s stakeholders, web development and marketing teams.

playfire / Web App UX & UI Design


A new UX a concept for social media

After receiving a brief to redesign the the gaming social network ‘playfire’, I developed a web app interface to allow users to access previously fragmented areas of the site more easily.

The design is based on a three column ‘accordion’ layout with fixed scrolling panels. The page structure extends into the relevant content area when a navigational element is selected from the left. This gives a visual hierarchy and structure seen in desktop email applications like Outlook Express. The layout strength is that it allows users to browse and filter content quickly whilst leaving giving great flexibility for the introduction of new types of content.

Retrospectd / Website Design, Concept & Branding


Learning more about design through design

With a spare week in hand I created the Retrospectd brand and website to showcase the worlds leading designers in the field sunglasses and eyewear.

Back in 2009 I decided to run a little experiment to see if I could create momentum around a niche area of design. I chose the area of eyewear as I had an interest in the rich cultural history of the highly valued but non-essential accessory. Over the following months I made great partnerships with eyewear brands across the globe and learnt a serious appreciation of the craft and knowledge that goes into a often under appreciated design form.
